Birthdays are always a time of reflection, no matter what age, unless of course you’re a little kid in which case you have no idea what reelection even is. But once you start getting older, the passing tick of another year is a good way to sort of assess where you’re at and where you’re going, or where you aren’t going. And when the age you’re turing is a milestone, like a round decade, then it’s all the more of a significant birthday. When the man in your life is turing 40, for example, you must know that he’s going to be going through a bunch of emotions, and you owe it to him and to yourself to do something special for him, something that’ll take his mind off the fact that he’ll never be in the majors, his body is becoming more brittle every day, and he’s a shell of what he once was. When your man turns 40, treat him to something special. Here are some ideas.
A New Suit
If your man is anything like me, he’s had the same suit for years. Sure, it fits a little more snug than when first purchased, but he can still slip in it and it looks pretty good, even if it’s a little outdated. When that wedding invitation comes up, he tries on the suit and if it’s too snug he knows he has to watch the wing consumption for a few weeks and maybe add an extra tick to his weekly jog. But it’s no big deal. But if you really want your man to feel strong and proud, go ahead and get him a nice, brand new suit, tailored to the way he is now. A 40 year old’s body ain’t a 30 year old’s body, and a new suit for the new decade is a smart move.
A New Truck
If you’ve made your man suffer through driving a car that you can both share, like a Camry or a minivan of some sort, it’s time to show him that you’ve appreciated his willingness to drive that same car,but now you want him to have something with manly power, a nice pickup truck that shows the world he’s still alive and virile. Head to the RAM dealer in Riverside and check out the deals they are having on Ram trucks. These things are the perfect truck for a guy going through a potential mid life crisis.
Trip To Cooperstown
Then there’s always the option to get him a cool trip, and there’s nothing cooler than heading to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame. No guy in his 40’s should have to live in a world where they’ve never been to the Hall of Fame, so no time like the present to book the trip. It’s a museum worth going to for sure.
