5 Great Motorcycle Events For 2013

If you are interested in motorcycling, whether or not you ride a motorcycle yourself, you may be pleased to hear that there are many motorcycle events that take place around the UK at various times of the year. You can turn up to such events to find out more about motorcycling or simply just to watch the professionals at work. So read on to find out about five great UK motorcycle events for 2013.

  •  Allied Memorial Remembrance Ride

This annual remembrance ride is due to take place on 6th July and is aimed at the remembrance of fallen heroes. The ride route is organised to take place between Cambridge Services on the A14 and Madingley American Cemetery, in the west of Cambridge, UK. Once the remembrance ride has been completed by all partakers, a short memorial service is to be held, which is to be opened with a Spitfire flypast demonstration. There will be another five Allied Memorial Remembrance Rides which will take place on the same day in Terrell, Texas; Mesa, Arizona; Ponca City, Oklahoma; Miami, Oklahoma and New Hampshire in the United States of America, as well as two rides in Canada to the commonwealth memorial in both Ottawa and Calgary.

Price: Charity ride with all proceeds from the UK ride going towards the Poppy Appeal.

  •  The Yorkshire Pudding Rally

Held each year on the first weekend in August, the Yorkshire Pudding Rally returns in 2013 on 2nd – 4th August. There will be a variety of entertainment at the event, including bands, DJ, comedy show, as well as a massive café in which to sit and enjoy your traditional Yorkshire fare.

Venue: Escrick Park Estate, York, North Yorkshire

  • Romney Marsh Classic Motorcycle Bike Jumble

Due to be held on 22nd September 2013, this event features a large indoor and outdoor bike jumble with a wide selection of motorbike related goods for sale including new and used spare parts, bikes, clothing and accessories. It doesn’t matter if the weather isn’t dry either as there will be a brand new marquee to take shelter in and peruse goods. There is also a Motoball game to watch – that’s five-aside motorcycle football for those unsure. Refreshments will also be available onsite and dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on the lead at all times.

Venue: Marsh Road, Hamstreet, Kent.

  •  Blackpool Classic Car and Bike Show

To be held on 26th-27th October 2013, the Blackpool Classic Car and Bike Show will feature everything from classic cars, motorbikes and scooters, to large scale entertainment and free entry to Blackpool Illuminations. There will also be bands and live shows to keep you entertained all day.

Venue: Blackpool Winter Gardens, Church Street, Blackpool, Lancashire

  •  Original Cruisers Halloween Extravaganza

This annually held motorcycle event is due to take place between 7th and 9th November 2013. However, you don’t have to be interested in bikes to have fun, as there will also be plenty of entertainment lined up to keep people of all tastes happy. Featuring rock bands, a charity raffle for the Northwest Air Ambulance, as well as a swimming pool, happy hours, all you can eat breakfast and dinners, and many trade stalls, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Venue: Pontins, Coastal road, Ainsdale, Southport

Price: Pre-book only, £15.
