Mahindra Xylo is a five-door MUV designed and manufactured by the Indian Automobile giant, Mahindra and Mahindra. It was introduced for the first time in the year 2009 (at Nashik) and has been one of the top performers of Mahindra ever since. Initially, there were six variants of Xylo.
Mahindra has come up with regular face-lifts of their superstar MUV, the Xylo. The latest version to hit the market is the new H-Series Xylo. It is powered by the mHawk engine and is available in three trims – the H4 (base model with ABS option), H8 (the next model with ABS and Airbag option) and the H9 version (the top-end model which comes with fully loaded features).
The MHawk engine under the hood of Xylo is a powerful machine that produces a maximum power of 120 PS and a torque of 280 NM. This powerful engine has been mated with a gearbox that comes with a five-speed manual transmission. In addition to this, backed by an ARAI certified mileage of 14.02 kmpl, the Xylo is an attractive option in the MUV segment.
What adds to the uniqueness of the Xylo is its distinct look that sets it apart from that of its rivals. The muscular machine from the Mahindra stables is a sturdy performer and has appealing looks to match.
The Xylo is a power-packed vehicle, 4520 mm long and 1850 wide. It comes with an impressive height of 1895 mm and has a wheel-base of 2760 mm. Adding to the desirability are features like bold looks, attractive and roomy interiors and features like airbags, ABS and rear wiper as standard. Some of the features that are included in the top-end variant of the Xylo are Voice Command Technology (VCT), rear defogger, Cruise Control and Digital Drive Assist System, to list a few. Most of these features are standard and do not need the customer to dish out more money from his pocket.
Mahindra Xylo comes with two bench seats in the second and third rows. However, one can opt for individual captain chairs in row 2, if one desires so. On the other hand, the width of the cabin and the boxy profile of the vehicle will allow three people to be seated in the third row quite comfortably. Legroom is slightly on the lower side in the third row, but it is better than what some of its rivals are offering.
Following the success of the Xylo, Mahindra had introduced a vehicle named Quanto in 2012, as a minuscule version. However, the Xylo is an excellent option for a large family, especially if they are fond of travelling together. It is one of the best vehicles for a long outing with family.
