The 2015 Nissan Altima – Excellence Continues

Opinions vary all over the board on the 2015 Nissan Altima. With a price tag of between $22 – 32,000, the Altima has a sporty sleek look and excellent fuel economy. It has been given quite high ratings by some, while it has received lack luster reviews by many in the auto industry, including Consumer Reports.

There are 2 different engines available and many trim levels. It comes in a 2.5L, 4 cylinder, 182 hp engine and a 3.5L V6, 270hp engine, as well. They both sport the CVT transmission with front wheel drive. The 4 cylinder got a 31 mpg overall and the V6 got a 24 mpg overall.

Some experts say that the Altima handles the tight corners with ease, it’s fun to drive. Consumer Reports calls the handling rather ordinary! They all seem to agree on the stability of the ride. The National Highway Traffic Safety has given the Altima an overall 5 star rating.

The Altima has a roomy cabin both front and back with good leg room but it’s sleek styling has seems to have cut off some head room for those over 6 feet tall!!

The front seats are the zero gravity seats that were inspired by NASA research to imitate weightlessness and minimize fatigue during long trips. Many auto reviews gave that honorable mention!

The look of the Altima cabin is very classy and upscale. The command console looks very modern and yet is user friendly. They offer standard features such as 4 speaker audio system, Bluetooth, cloth seats, push button starts and a unique feature called the “Easy Fill Tire Alert”. It gives you a horn honk when your tire is properly inflated. As with all new vehicles, you can get many options such as cruise control, leather heated seats, a 9 speaker Bose audio system, USB / IPOD inputs, a 5 or 7 ” touch screen command center that integrates your phone, a navigation system, hands free text messaging, rear view cameras, moon roofs and various alarms / warnings to aid the driver such as: lane departure warnings, back up detection alarms and blind spot warnings!

The trunk of the Altima is wide and with the 60 / 40 split it can carry a lot of cargo.

Opinions will vary with every vehicle – after doing your research – the only opinion that matters when you buy a vehicle is – Yours.
