Top 10: Celebrity Cars

When it comes to cars, most celebrities have the best. Whether it’s Dita von Teese’s collection of classics, Jay Leno’s priceless car garage or even writer Clive Cussler’s out-of-this-world collection of older model cars, celebrities have it all. And of course, with the cash they’re bringing in, why not?

David Beckham – Custom Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead

It’s hard to beat the pure classic beauty of a Rolls Royce Phantom. Made famous as an extreme luxury car owned only by the very wealthy, the Rolls still holds its claim to fame today. David Beckham’s Rolls-Royce is a custom Phantom Drophead with custom 24” Savini wheels and ‘24’ (Beckham’s number) embroidered in the seats.

Nicolas Cage – Ferrari Enzo

While Cage actually sold this buy-by-invitation-only car to cover a few unpaid bills, it still comes in as one of the coolest celebrity cars ever. For starters, there were only 399 of them ever made. Then you add in the F140 aluminium V12 engine and the fact that it can go from 0 – 60 in 3.4 seconds and you have the next best thing to your own personal racecar/rollercoaster/dream ride.

Patrick Dempsey – Jaguar XK120

Simultaneously putting himself in the same automotive league as Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable while driving one of the coolest cars around, Dempsey purchased and drives a XK120. The car was only produced between 1948 and 1954 which means Dempsey is driving around a real piece of classic car history.

Kate Moss – MG Midget MK III

Kate Moss is famous for living life on the wild side which is probably why she chose this car. The Midget MK III is famous for only one thing and that’s breaking down! The car is a little flashy, small enough to park just about anywhere and really looks like a classic. She just has to remember to keep a towtruck on hand…

Daniel Radcliffe – Fiat Grande Punto

If you’re a fan of Harry Potter than you probably know that the star is worth millions. Surprisingly, unlike most teenagers would have done, Radcliffe went out and spent his fortune on a 2007 Fiat Grande Punto. While not very flashy, the car is one of the most eco-friendly in Britain, which is why he bought it.

Clint Eastwood – GMC Typhoon

Cowboy movie star Clint Eastwood has a vaguely disappointing automobile. While it looks like your average, every day suburban, the GMC Typhoon was only made between 1992 and 1993. That makes it a very rare, classic suburban with a very powerful turbocharged 4.3 litre V-6 engine. However, it’s still basically an SUV. Yawn.

Birdman- Bugatti Veyron

If you’re not a rap music fan then you may not know who he is, but this guy’s got a damned cool car. Coming in as the second most expensive celebrity car in the world, the Bugatti is worth approximately £1 million. The car holds the title of being the fastest legal street car in the world, imagine if your driving instructor rolled up in one of these!

Jerry Seinfeld – Porsche 959

Jerry Seinfeld happens to own one of the world’s largest collections of Porsches. One of the cars he owns is a signature Porsche 949, one of 337 ever built. While Seinfeld doesn’t go out of his way to be extra cool on the show, he doesn’t have to; his car does all of the work for him.  The Porsche is possibly one of the most classic luxury cars available. Oh, that signature body and silver sheen, it’s exquisite! The only unfortunate fact about the car is that due to recent updates to the U.S. emissions laws, the car is illegal to drive in Seinfeld’s home of New York.

Paris Hilton – Bentley GT Continental

While a Barbie doll pink gas-guzzler isn’t exactly most peoples’ idea of a dream car, it was for Paris. She spent roughly £150,000 just on the diamond encrusted dashboard. But Paris’ Bentley isn’t just for show: it packs a 6 litre, W formation 12 cylinder engine under the hood.

Jay Z- Maybach Exelero

Quite possibly the most expensive car in the world, the Maybach Exelero was originally created as a one-of-a-kind automobile. Now, they are being mass produced for the public but with an £5,000,000(ish) price tag, it’s unlikely that anyone we know will ever afford one, which is a shame because they are truly breathtaking. The car weighs 2.6 tons and can go from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds!
